Cu Chi Tunnels is a well-known and “wish-to-come” historical site for those who travel to Southern Vietnam. If your budget time is limited though you even want to learn more about the Vietnam war, the half-day tour to Cu Chi Tunnels by speedboat is a perfect choice for you. Different from other classic tours to Cu Chi Tunnels, the speedboat tour not only helps you to understand the war remnant but also offers the chance to explore the daily life of Saigonese with a brand-new view.

We will pick you up at your hotel at 7:00 and then transfer you to Bach Dang Pier where you will embark on a luxury speedboat heading towards Cu Chi Tunnels. While the boat is cruising through the original landscapes along Saigon riverbanks, you will be served with fresh seasonal fruits and soft drinks and observe the local lifestyle of Saigoneses. Arriving at Cu Chi Tunnels (Dinh Pier), a documentary film about the tunnels during wartime will be introduced first. 

Afterward, we will have a soft walk into the jungle to visit the traps, the secret entrance, the bunkers, and the underground hideouts. There offers you a special and fantastic chance to relax by shooting real guns and real bullets at the rifle range as well as to witness the rice-paper (spring roll skin) making. You can even try to crawl into the Cu Chi Tunnels. 

Take a rest with green tea and tapioca, the main food served during the wartime, to learn more about the life of Viet Cong in the war. Saying goodbye to the historic land before having traditional Vietnamese lunch in the romantic riverside restaurant on the way back. You can choose to come back to Saigon downtown by shuttle bus or by our return speedboat to Bach Dang Pier.

Have breakfast at hotel then going to visit Tra Su, getting to the wild birds Sanctuary, cruising smoothly with small boats to discover the arrays of splendid canals deep into the forest, watching storks, cranes and other tropical birds. After the trip, you will travel to Can Tho by bus. This route takes 3 -4 hours for about 125km

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit Cai Rang floating market (& Phong Dien is optional), which are the liveliest in the whole religion. Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a "Monkey bridge" which is built by only o­ne stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. Back to HCM city.

As if that wasn’t enough, the surrounding countryside of Hoi An is equally scenic and you can easily take a day trip out to glorious beaches or ruined cities.

The bus from Hoi An to Hue will take. Approximately 3 hours.  You will take morning bus to Hue then arrive in afternoon. Hue is one of the most charming towns in Vietnam and is located on the banks of the beautifully named Perfume River. This part of Vietnam has a long and illustrious history as it used to be one of the main royal capitals of the country. With naturally primitive features, Paradise Cave looks like a landscape painting; making it a natural wonder that many have enjoyed since its opening in 2010. According to spelunkers (cave explorers), the deeper one journeys into the cave, the more one feels the wells of heavenly clarity all around. The cave can reach up to 72 m high and up to 150 m wide. There are a series of white crystal stalactites (limestone deposits) resembling natural pillars and many other spectacular formations. Paradise Cave (Hang Thien Duong) was discovered by scientists of the British Caving Research Association in 2005. It has a length of 31.4 km, and is the longest dry cave in Asia.

Phong Nha cave is not only a natural legacy of the world. It also stands as a relic system of the historic Ho Chi Minh trail which, during the US war, served as a secret hiding place for floating bridges that were only brought out at night to avoid targeted bombings. These bridges were key components in the supply chain from the north to the south by allowing supply trucks to cross the rivers. It also once served as a hospital, with weapons installed at the entrance. Once its location was discovered, it was heavily bombed, resulting in the external scarring you see today. This area has now become the first section of the ever popular Ho Chi Minh trail, as it showcases a lush, mountainous landscape.

* Detailed time plan: 8:45-9:10 AM: Our driver will pick you up at your hotel in Phong Nha village, then transfer you to Paradise Cave – the longest dry cave in Asia (located in Phong Nha – Ke bang National Park’s core zone). You will then be taken by golf cart (1.6km) from the main gate through the jungle, to where you will then climb to the mouth of the cave; a climb that boasts spectacular views of the mountainous region around the cave.

12:30: Lunch at local restaurant in Phong Nha village. Here you will enjoy a traditional vietnamese dish. Vegetarian option available. 13:30: Depart for Phong Nha Cave. You will then take a 25 minute ride to the cave via traditional dragonboat. This cave is called a water cave as it exhibits an underground river. After going into the cave by boat, you will explore 300 meters into the cave on foot. Then, you will be taken back by boat. This cave  is famous for its spectacular rock formations. It has been given names such as the “Lion”, the “Fairy Caves”, the “Royal Court”, and the “Buddha”. 17:00: Back to Phong Nha Village. Tour ends when you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Next to Phong Nha, Dark Cave is the most popular tourism site in the area. It was first discovered in 1990 and opened up not long after that. The Dark Cave is the smaller version of the Son Doong Cave. The reason for the name is that there is no artificial light installed inside the cave and with its total length of 6 kilometers it’s nothing but darkness! Moreover, the rocks inside the cave are dark, some gray some black.

With this tour, you will have new experiences: ziplining, rowing the kayak. Moreover, the cave is home to many lakes, with a water temperature of about 18 degrees.  Inside the cave there are many unique things to see and experience! There is a natural mud bath at the end of one of the narrow passages and there are many ancient fossils to be found. The fossils are over a million years old! The natural mud bath is very good for the skin, and compared to a mud-bath in a spa this is just a fraction of the price.

Itinerary: Pick up from hotel in Phong Nha at 9 – 9:30 am, then transfer you to Paradise Cave – the longest dry cave in Asia (located in Phong Nha – Ke bang National Park’s core zone). 12:00: Lunch at Dark cave restaurant. Here you will enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dish. Participate in the many adventure activities: mud bath, ziplining, swimming, kayaking, adventure course, caving etc. 17:00 Depart directly to Dong Hoi Train station to take night train to Ha Noi. Tour ends. Night train will take maximum 11 hours to arrive.

You will arrive in Ha Noi train station at 5 – 6 am. Then our driver will take you to hotel. Check in hotel when room is available or you can keep luggage and waiting at hotel lobby till room is open. You will have free of time to rest after night train and free to visit Ha Noi City by your own.

7h30-8h10: Our driver and tour guide pick you up at hotel or meeting point in the Old Quarter to get to Ninh Binh province which located in the south of Northern Vietnam. 9h30: Visiting Hoa Lu- ancient capital of Vietnam from 986-1010. We will visit Ding king temple and Le king temple in the 10th century, finding out the Heroic histories of this two Kings in Chinese Wars. 10h30: Visiting Mua Cave (Dancing cave), where you can get the impressive panoramic view of Tam Coc and NinhBinh city when you reach the top point of Ngoa Long mountain (about 500 stone steps)

12h00: Enjoy the set menu Vietnamese cuisine lunch at Wonderland bungalow.( cooking class activity is available). 13h00: Discovering Tam Coc ( Three water caves) on the sampan (bamboo boat) in almost 2 hours passing through 3 caves: Hang Ca- first cave, Hang Hai- second cave, Hang Ba- the third cave by boat will bring to you excited feeling. 15h00: You will be amazed by the beauty of countryside in the North of Vietnam by cycling time. 16h00: Sunset party at the swimming pool: After discovering the amazing beauty of Ninh Binh by walking, hiking, cycling, tourists can relax by swimming, drinking local tea, fresh fruits while the Sun is setting (swimming in the allowable condition). Overnight stay in Tam Coc homestay.

Breakfast at hotel, free time for your own leisure till at 2pm, you will take bus to Mai Chau. It takes 3.5 hours by transferring. You will arrive in Mai Chau in afternoon. Free and overnight stay in Mai Chau.

On the morning, we'll leave the city behind and pass through the craggy, mountainous landscape. On arrival in Pom Coong village, you'll check in to the stilt-house home of a Thai ethnic minority family. In the afternoon, you can cycle through the lovely villages in the Mai Chau valley letting your guide point out and explain the wonders along the way. Afterwards, we return to Mai Chau for dinner and homestay in the stilt house with your friendly Thai hosts.

After breakfast with a view, you can wander around the houses to glimpse the daily life of local people. They specialize in weaving brocade products and they're happy to show visitors their skills. The village is operated as a community cooperative organized by the people themselves – one of many reasons why Handspan is proud to bring visitors here. In the afternoon, you'll return to Hanoi with a new perspective on life in rural Vietnam and some fantastic memories stored in the camera and in your heart.
