Ca Mau is well-known for U Minh cajuput forest and Nam Can mangrove forest. Besides, there is also a historical vestige, Khoai Island, which is closely related to the insurrection led by hero Phan Ngoc Hien. Coming to Cape Ca Mau National Park, it means that you are stepping on the southernmost of Vietnam. This National park was originally covered in natural mangrove forest but the vast majority was destroyed during the Second Indochina War and, later, by conversion to aquacultural ponds and agricultural land. Most of the aquacultural ponds have been abandoned, and now support extensive areas of re-colonising mangrove forest. There are extensive mudflats, which are also being colonised naturally by mangrove. Here you can wander around the Cape Ca Mau site, or take photos with the national boundary stone and the symbol panel of Cape Ca Mau.
